Indeed. I just wonder what the final height will be, hopefully over 200m.

Looks like there is a lot of clean-up before this one can really start. To bad it was left to deteriorate for so long.

Nice!

The Silver Towers are just shy of 200m. So this one looks like it could break the 200m mark.

This is a beauty! Just counting the floors this will have to be taller than 200M. My guess is around 250M

From that particular bird's eye angle, this is a *cinch* to be at least 700' (EDIT: my sense of perspective's never been too good anyhow...

Maybe they should've kept the glass hue of Atelier I...at least till it hits the top box.

Is it considered cantilevered when the mid part between two greater-sized sections of a building is thinner (For frame of reference, I'm thinking of the mid-pieces between 7SD Chicago/432Park's "tubes")?

It's precisely the "neck" that separates the top box here from the rest of the structure I'm asking about.

In Manhattan, you get the very slender, "sliver" residential towers. But you also get the blocky and boxy towers, especially on the west side. I don't like the blocky base, but I know there is supposed to be retail.

New permit filing from the DOB:

http://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/Jo...ssdocnumber=01

Quote:
Building Height (ft.): 656
Building Stories: 61
Dwelling Units: 1669
So definitely over 200m tall! Please change thread title to 656FT / 200M | 61 FLOORS.

Just noticed the brown building to the left of Javitz in the rendering has an 'advertisement' that's actually the view of the Atelier II from the southern perspective. Funny easter egg!

Per permits & activity this should probably be moved to under construction.

Fun fact: this MAY just be the largest apartment building in the entire city by # of units!

^ Yep, 1669 - that's insane! And yeah I agree, this one is definitely under construction.

I just wonder about the final height (per DOB permits 656ft) ...

Probably a little closer to 700 ft.

Off the top of your head, are there any projects larger than this in NYC? I did some research as the 1,669 number is enormous & couldn't find any... London Terrace Towers had 1,700 units in 1930 but I assume that # is probably smaller now, and it's a total of 14 buildings. This is truly unprecedented.

Any updates? Is the tower nearing street level or already above it?

I'll try to check next week. My guess is that foundation work is still underway.

Photo update!

I hadn't realized how massive this site is, so I think it will take some time before we see it going vertical. Good news is that there was an army of workers on site.
