Its one thing to visit and another try and live there. I've had a couple of friends who have lived there and felt without a strong knowledge of French they found it hard to get good jobs or progress very much. They loved that it was cheap though.

Valid point. I guess the same would happen to me if I'd move to Porto without having a solid base in portuguese... Pretty normal IMO.

thanks for that. Evokes so much bittersweet emotion. I miss my hometown very badly. Parts of the video are over the top, but the art, architecture, food, fashion, culture and Joie de Vivre is spot-on. Montreal is truly one of the world's greatest cities.

What's stopping you from moving back and settling down there? Surely there are many universities there you can work at.

yes, I had offers from JMSB and HEC, but my wife isn't as keen, as her folks (and my mom) live in the GTA. Western is a great place, but London is sterile.
