CIBC Square - the bright light in the lower centre is the structure starting for the park that covers the rail tracks.

So glad they started on that! If it's a success, which it should be, there'll be such an appetite for the 21 acre Rail Deck Park on the West end. It will be such a treat to walk from North of the tracks to the waterfront over manicured green space rather than tunnels!

So many game changers nowadays with actual shovels in the ground: Bay Park Center, The Well, The One and One Yonge, to name a few.

I agree, but CIBC Square is different in that it has so many public amenities and services. Like the multi-level bus terminal, train connections, extended PATH that will totally bypass the main Union Station building to the lake, and the small'ish rail deck park.

Yes the architecture will at least be on par with the Yonge and Bloor buildings which is also a good thing.

One tower, a supertall, would be great there. I wish the two of these were one.

The way I see it, The bus station will be new and improved over the existing one. It's still a bus station. I can't remember the plans but, I don't see the opportunity for PATH through CIBC Square to totally bypass Union. The park is cool but, I don't see myself lingering around there or using it to bypass going through a tunnel to Harbourfront. The tunnels are nice enough and you don't have to go up and down escalators. This is just a big corporate complex which we haven't seen since BCE Place was built. Game changer? Why not.

Yeah - I don't think the PATH at the building misses Union Station

Thanks. What I thought. CIBC Square doesn't include the Dominion Public Building.

Ok. I thought the development had a bypass of Union Station. Oh well, my bad.

It's all good. I wonder if it makes sense to build the link and is it possible to connect Brookfield Place to a tunnel from the south? I don't see it being heavily used.
