Unalligned and awkward seating in a cavernous multipurpose facility. Players trotting around on a temporary rug over concrete as not to injure themselves.

Sounds like a spectacle not a football match.

The Big O is, until the Skydome opened, the ONLY stadium in this country that was considered world class when it opened. If you consider it lame, that's fine (a lot of horrible decisions were made after it was built that made the stadium uglier inside). But so are every single stadiums in Canada.

Oympic Stadium at full capacity still provides, BY FAR, the best atmosphere out of anything else Montreal has to offer.
There. Fixed it for you.

Nicko's viewing the stadium through 1976 goggles.

It's 2018 and it's a horrible stadium for everything except viewing the architecture from a distance.

That's a nice way of putting it.

Actually, it could be brought up to a world class standard (what stadium doesn't say that nowadays) but it would take a BC Place sized renovation to do it and the will isn't there to spend that type of money.

Shame though, if done right it could be special, but they'd have to gut the interior.

They renoed the aquatic centre purty good.

Nobody cares about this. If this was the way to definitively rank stadiums then North Korea would have the World's best stadium.

Debatable. This can't be judged quantitatively or qualitatively.

From 100 metres away, yes. It's ugly as sin inside.

It's an old stadium past its prime with a slew of structural and physical issues. Maybe it was world-class 30 years ago but those days are long gone.

According to their designers, every stadium built today is world class.

Considering revenues of 54 million, as stated by Bill Manning, TFC is making buckets of cash!!

That's just spending on players, not the cost of marketing the team, running/renting the venue, travel and accommodation, paying support staff/management etc...

I wouldn't be surprised if they are losing money with a roster spend like that.

They are losing money. IIRC TFC would be in the black if they cut ties with one of their large contracts (Giovinco, for example).

I think they lose something like $7/8M a season on a valuation of $280M.
