Consider the price point of the product. This is actually quite nice.

The nearby Holiday Inn Express-Midtown would classify as their market similar. That shideous Holiday Inn building would not register near the level of this Cambria building. And I'm not talking about age and wear. I'm talking about design and aesthetics, particularly when it comes to integration and consideration from multiple angles. If there is one thing the Holiday Inn building does successfully, it is by being soo nothing-burger that it actually disappears, therefore making it a quality.

Might be a bit hard considering they're a firm based in Philadelphia.

Disagree 110%... look at other Cambria Hotels around the country. This is by far one of the nicest ones.

Plus, DAS has done other nice work like the Beacon, the Sansom, the Granary and the Hyatt Centric Hotel replacing the Pete's garage.

It's not offensive at all in person. It mostly just blends in, which I think is perfectly fine for this development.

...and as I stated before, it's certainly one of the nicest looking Cambria Hotel's in the country.

I hope those lowrises at the corner get turned into something really nice. I'm kinda surprised how cheap this one's turning out -- Granary and Beacon are much more representative of Pearl projects.

Yeah I think everyone is a little too quick to jump on this building. The windows aren't all in, ground floor / street lower levels aren't complete yet, and redoing the Perch may pull the lower levels together.

Then again it can also get worse.

it really does look better in person in that it's practically a nonentity. at least this dud doesn't call any attention to itself whatsoever.

and i too am interested in seeing how the ground level is pulled together. hoping it's a full overhaul at the end.
