[White Rock] Miramar Village | 21 and 17 Floors | Completed

www.miramarvillage.ca

I was in White Rock today and realized that this hasn't been updated in a while. It's starting to look good and I think it will be nice. With the future phases (two more high rises) and a few other developments in the area, there will be a lot going on. Hopefully more will follow. Photos by me.

Thanks for the pics. They're really making an impact when looking south down 152nd. They're not huge but for White Rock it's quite something. I've heard they'll be visible from Blaine. For some reason I like the thought that when Americans look across the bay into little ol' Canada they'll see towers rising into view. Just seems to break from the expected stereotypes in that looking across to Canada one will see a dense, populated, thriving, urban settlement while looking across to the US you could pretty much not notice Blaine if you didn't look hard enough.

Nice. I remember this proposal being in the works when I used to live in WR. At the 301 route bus stop this granny would accost me with tales of doom and gloom if the towers would be built. I'd just listen and shake my head in silence.

Ya, well it is the Florida of Vancouver so change is something hard to accept out there. Anyone know what the status of the Semhiamoo mall re-development is? I recall seeing images of towers there somewhat like the Oakridge mall re-development.

Right, the semiahmoo towers. Those were the ones proposed by Bosa, were they not? Or am I mistaken?

I used to live just two blocks from the beach and would often wonder what they would look like as I'd climb up the hill to catch the 301 on 152nd. They were proposed in the ~20-storey range, no?

^Yes, I'm quite sure it was Bosa and the tallest is 21 storeys (as the thread title says). I think after that there are two 17 storeys and then the last I'm not too sure. Maybe about 14?

^^ There's a small foresty park beside the property

^^ I liked the aquatic style architecture

^^ The towers rising above the ridge. This is the view from White Rock beach.

Thanks for the update paradigm4. That last shot is quite impressive. I was wondering if you'd be able to see them over the top of the hill. I assumed you would see them from Blaine, but I didn't expect to see them from the Pier.

It'll be quite something once the other two towers for the second phase go up and then you'll see 4 towers up there. I wonder if the proposed Semiahmoo Mall redevelopment towers will be visible from there as well. They'll be further from the beach, but at least about 9 storeys taller for the tallest of them.

You can see these towers as you approach Tsawwassen on the ferry from Victoria.

^Wow, that's impressive. I would've never have guessed that. They're not even all that tall.

Yeah, I was surprised to see them.

And you'll be able to see them from taller vantage points in Victoria, too. These will be the first Vancouver metro towers visible from the Victoria metro.

And while in White Rock one of the locals told me that the other two towers weren't going ahead. Is there truth to that?
