Let's check out some commercial strips on Chicago's vast Northwest Side.
First up: Albany Park, one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in the city. It is a predominantly foreign-born community, with significant populations of Mexican, Filipino, Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Korean, Guatemalan, Cambodian, and Middle Eastern folks. This stretch of Lawrence Avenue is known as Chicago's Koreatown. Although most Korean residents have moved further north in the city and into the suburbs, many Korean stores remain. The neighborhood's largest population is Mexican. It is a very busy area with excellent dining options. Despite being relatively near the outskirts of the city and well inland from the lake, Albany Park has a population density near 30,000 sq/mi. The side streets of Albany Park are mostly unbroken stretches of brick 2-flats and 3-flats, but with more frame housing appearing in the western end of the neighborhood.

Humboldt Park is a neighborhood on Chicago's near NW side. It lies just west of the popular Wicker Park neighborhood, and just south of Logan Square. Humboldt Park is largely Mexican and Puerto Rican, with a significant African American minority.
The part of the neighborhood I'm touring is located in the western half of the West Town community area.
