[Burnaby] The MET 1 and 2 | 40fl, ? | Completed

I don't know why nobody has made a thread for this one yet, excavation started 4-5 months ago and the crane went up over a week ago. Site is located almost right across the street from Chancellor.

speaking of updates I wonder when they (Concord) are going to update that render showing the MET II that will be directly north of that tower!

I remember seeing these adds on papers months ago, but is it then 100% sold since I haven't seen it being marketed actively very recently.

Where did I read that there would be a sister tower (The MET II) being built as well?

The Met II will be located directly north of the Met I (currently 2 x walk-up rental apartments) on an L-shaped site.

What's the diffence to the one at the MNP Tower site? Or did you mean first such crane outside of Downtown?

To be honest it also caught my eye that they have setup two such cranes and wondering what the reason might be. MNP Tower site is very tight with surrounding buildings and cannot accommodate regular crane, but why at The MET? They just happened to have those in the back of the warehouse?

Maybe they couldn't negotiate airspace rights with the neighbouring apartment block owners.

yes there have been luffings used in the burbs before ... I just mean 2x at the same time on the same site. not seen that in Vancouver or Metro Vancouver yet.

I just got news that demolition of the two buildings north of the Met, which is the future site of the Met II, will begin in December 2013.
