The Changing Male/Female Ratio of Washington, DC

Not sure how many Washington DC members we have here, but maybe someone can shed light on the following.

I've lived in the DC area since 2004 and it seems like there's a lot less women here now than before. In 2004-2007 there were huge numbers of girls in DC, which was evident in the local bars and clubs, and now there seems to be a surplus of guys and relatively few women. I even see this on the metro and when out and about, definitely not as many women as a few years ago.

I'm curious if anybody else has noticed this shift in DC's demographics or can explain it. Thanks

I've lived in the DC area for over 30 years now, nearly all of those in a committed relationship (married). I wish I could say one way or the other, but since my wife put blinders on me I got no idea. Sorry.
