There is still hope, this is gonna be a massive build out:

1. Build New Convention Centre Space
2. Demolish Old Convention Space
3. Build New Hotel Space
4. Demolish Old Hotel Space
5. Deck Raillands and Connect North and South Convention Centres
6. Build Office towers

Looks like a 10 year total build out at the minimum.

Oh man what would Vancouver look like without a height limit?

I don't see the design review panel playing god with Norman Foster.

Minor adjustments to ground level, retail, streetscaping and entry and exit points. As Usual.

Can you give us some insider info?

Its been 10 years since the last supertall proposal in Toronto.

I wouldn't count on 4, when 2 perhaps maybe 3 are already on the table.

Unless you are making the prediction the hotel components are over 1000 feet.

No insider info, but these are probably looking at 3-4 years until they even begin construction, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get something like 305m before these are finished. I would be surprised if it takes 5-6 years to build as well as they have to deck over the rail tracks.

The time line on this is mindboggling. Your right I guess its possible One of the Gehry Towers or Holt Renfrew could sneak over the 1000ft/300meter mark.

It will be close..

By the time we get these Fosters FCP will have been Toronto's tallest for 40 years.

Any supertall proposal is going to be a minimum 3 to 4 years before they even contemplate construction. I'm not sure why you are predicting the convention centre towers being supertall either. If you're right, I could see strong opposition having supertalls so close to the CN tower. It's the face of Toronto largely because its sheer height isn't blocked by other tall towers.

But that's the beauty of the CN Tower. You would still get a great view from the main deck and the location of the Oxford supertalls is roughly where the wall between the Horizons restaurant and the viewing deck is, so it wouldn't affect that view too much. Plus the Skypod is that much higher that you would still be roughly 120m above the top of the Oxford towers. So I imagine the sight lines from there would still be great.

I'm referring to its positioning and not the views from the observation decks.

Multiple sources have reported that the preliminarily proposed height of the two east towers is 1070 feet each.

A source at City Hall intimately associated with this project has told me that three of the towers proposed here are taller than the Mirvish proposals, and the two to the east are proposed at… one thousand seventy feet each.

Have fun.

Which is a meaningless number. The primary tenants will decide the height of the building. Look at the adjustments Royal Bank has made to its recent office buildings. Giant floorplates, particularly the podium, and a shorter tower.

A 150 foot tall podium covering the entire block with a pair of 600 foot towers above it (total height of 750 feet) is just as likely.

Be that as it may, it's not unreasonable to predict that these could end up being supertalls given that the preliminarily proposed height is 1070 feet.

Not at all, but for the people feeling that these are going to be built as supertalls for sure it's important to keep in mind there is a ton up in the air still.

These are far more than just 3-4 years out in all likelihood and are purely conceptual at this point.

Yup. I'll predict a pair of 800 foot office towers with a completion date around 2025 unless GO follows through with Bathurst station; I'll go with three 800 foot office towers if that happens.

Which, if you're like me and can't make heads or tails with US measurements, works out to 326 m.
