I completely agree with pistola916 about the west sac skyline, the bridge district should be full of high rise condos and maybee even a hotel/resort, the northern side should have a few more office towers, and maybe a condo tower, and all along the river, there should be a large walkway with shops and restaraunts. Also, if they did that, they should have an offramp from I5 that takes you over the river and into the bridge district.

As for sac, they should put something huge on the towers site, and also develop on the 200 block of capitol mall, next to WestAm Bank, right along I5
I know it will probably never happen, but if it does, sacramento (and west sac) could become awesome towns, and all the visitors fron sanfran would drive up here for a day or two, and hang out by the river

unfortunately, none of that stuff will ever happen, deffinitly while the economy is this bad ...........at least we have the railyards.....oh yeah they went bankrupt after two bridge support polls , I could have funded more than two support polls................

I took over one hundred shots tonight from the 25th floor. I wound up with three good ones (more like ten, since two of them are HDR). Enjoy.

And lastly, I leave you all with the newest in my series of urban self-portraits.

You're really improving, TDS. You're HDR is good and not overbearing like some photographers.

Gentlemen, some shots from Wednesday night, the night we got our first rain of the season.

I had to speed up the shooting process on Wednesday as I felt some drops of rain as I was shooting Tower. The minute I got out of the car in my driveway, it started raining. Perfect timing, if you ask me.

Fall mornings lay a nice thick haze in the air creating awe-inspiring silhouettes from the west.

Iconic Capitol Mall

One of my favorite views down Capitol Mall from the Embassy Suites.
This sure would have been an awesome view if just a few more of the
proposed towers came to fruition a few years ago. This is a five photo
stitched panoramic taken on 9-3-2010.

bored, decided to bike around and check out some projects in progress..

and some that need to be.

sneaking a peek at 12th and E. still got a long way to go.

it's a shame this never got finished. the trees around it give it a really exotic vibe.

what's up with this? this has been here for a while. I think I saw some activity in that lot recently.. but I'm not sure anymore..

is this dead now?

I live a block away from this. why has it been slightly rennovated but still vacant? it's been like this for a couple of years now.. hmm. I kind of want to live here.

weren't they making a pocket park here?

The 18th & Capitol building is on hold, probably until the housing market improves, according to Julie Young, the person behind it. B Street Theater isn't dead but the latest version will not have housing on the top. The building on F Street doesn't have anyone living in it because the owner is trying to sell it. The city purchased the land to build a pocket park, but the city Parks Department can't even afford to keep the bathrooms at the parks we do have open full-time, let alone improve and maintain a new park.

Excellent photo. Those couple of minutes during sunset before it gets dark is an amazing time to take photos.

It's not Sac, but it just reminded me of this shot.
