The before and after of this vista is amazing. Reminds me of Berlin.

This is going to activate this area in a profound way. Especially once the old Bulliten Building comes online as an active part of Drexel.
Imagine being able to wait for your train in this park when the weather is good. Hang out there between classes. So many other possibilities, even before new restraunts etc in 30th st.
Instead of a dead space this will be alive and active, with people, but also the green of the trees and lawn etc. Rather than something to walk around and past,
it will be a place to gather, meet and connect. It will set off 30th street from the west in an awesome way too.
Very exciting.

A few more highrises wouldn't hurt to activate the area as well.

I hope that that screen on the facade of the Bulletin building comes to fruition. It would be so cool to watch movies or sports broadcasts while laying on the grass next to 30th St. Station.

Agreed. To have the building as-is be the de facto back-drop of the park and the billboard for this development is weak. I was a little surprised that they didn't include that feature (as costly as it may be) in the initial funding and development of the park. As they seek to attract millions of square feet of tenants, it would have been a pretty sophisticated and strong statement to everyone: we're here, we're serious, and this place is going to be off the hook. As it stands, the building in it's current form - renovations and all - actually detracts from the art deco surroundings and is...blah.

I'm worried about the amount of shade they'll cast on the park, has anyone seen a shadow study for these redwood trees? And speaking of which, redwood, red brick, when will this city do something new???

^Even a little green goes a very long way in this former moonscape.
