Split, Croatia (Summer 2007)

I visited the city of Split, Croatia this summer. Split is the second largest city in Croatia, and has an interesting (and sometimes horrible) mix of old and new.

Wow. Great pics. Some pics look like you are in Venice. But the photo of the shore line looks a bit like Monaco.

Thanks everyone. Some buildings in the centre of Split date back to the Roman Era (Diocletians palace takes up a significant part of the waterfront). Most of them are from the Venetian period (1420 - 1797). As you go further out, commieblocks and newer buildings prevail. The panorama pretty much sums it up

Very nice, it looks absolutely wonderful! The Croatian coastline must be one the most beautiful in the world.
