Yeah, I think in the coming seasons we will also be seeing a lot more 8-10 story residential with some mixed-use thrown in. It amazes me how quickly Salt Lake City is building up now. Another thing I'm noticing about Salt Lake City is the nice materials they're putting on the exterior of most of their residential. I think the recent renderings of places like Hardware and the Shoko site development are great examples of the local flare for brick, metal, and a long list of varied materials and a nice range of color palette also. If the local forum was any indication of the general public, then there was quite a rebellion early on against the use of beige stucco in SLC, or stucco in general. Thank goodness for that! Unfortunately, they're getting away with way too much stucco here in L.A. on the mid-rise residential. Pre-50's L.A. really knew how to finish their buildings right.
