They're not done with it yet ...

I'm pretty confident it will be nice in the evenings, illuminated.

Marlowe is humming along.

Really kinda hit me today as I drove around the city that all of these projects came to fruition. Several years back I remember reading about all these new proposals and the potential they would have at transforming the city. Here we are a few short years later and everything is either built or being built and more continue to be proposed. This has to be the greatest "cycle" I've witnessed in Chicago ever. Not just the signatures like OBP, OGP, and Vista but the transformations of large swaths of former areas like Wells, Riverline, Wrigleyville, and the South/West Loop. From the McCormick entertainment district to the rehabs of epic buildings (Londonhouse, Athletic Assoc Hotel, Post Office, Atlantic Bank and now Carbide) to the creation of the Riverwalk and Maggie Daley. Now WPE and poss 1000 S Mich, 110 Wacker, 300 N Mich, completion of LSE?....it seems surreal. I guess I've grown so accustomed to everything streaming along Ive become somewhat immune to the sheer audacity of the transformation. Its really quite striking that in a city this size you can still change her appearance in a matter of a few short years.

Because of some excess drama in my personal life part of me wants to just sell everything and move somewhere completely different. But then I'd really miss watching all the amazing transformations here in Chicago, so I feel kind of trapped (not necessarily in a bad way) by my love of Chicago and especially of my location here.

JuanPaulo over at SSC did this with the original photo from Jareb Arguello
https://www.flickr.com/photos/jarguechi/

Pretty damn awesome if ALL of these came to fruition (even though most will likely not see reality). The general scale of each new highrise looks pretty decent, with the possible exception of Wolf Point South.

Pretty cool picture, but the Gensler and Jahn(for the Thompson Center) buildings are never getting built as they aren't actual proposals. Also he is using old renderings of the Wolf Point site. Fun to imagine though!

Agree (on both points).

Is the very tall tower at the far right of the photo the latest proposal for the Spire's site?

Awesome pic! WPS is definitely exaggerated in height. It looks almost as tall as Sears when accounting for distance. My guess is from this vantage, the rooftop would be closer to the last setback on the Sears.
