When walking north on 9th Avenue, this tower looms in a great way, and you can truly appreciate the design. It almost makes me regret that another tower will block the view, but I'm sure that one will look just as great, if only a little smaller.

Inside Brookfield's Manhattan West Megaproject

The first of the megaproject’s two brand-new office buildings, One Manhattan West, topped out last month and was shown to the media Friday.

The view from the 60th floor, which is not yet built out and has been leased to consulting firm Accenture, shows views of Hudson Yards, downtown Manhattan and the Empire State Building.

The Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill-designed building, slated to open in the last quarter of 2019, is already 90% leased. Accounting firm EY has the largest lease there, signing up for 640K SF in the 67-story, 2.1M SF building last year. Law firm Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP has leased 635K SF, while Accenture and the National Hockey League have inked deals for 250K SF and 175K SF respectively.

The second ground-up office tower, Two Manhattan West, is currently in foundation and no leases for the 2M SF of available space have been announced so far.

Brookfield is also bringing the city’s first Pendry Hotel, a 164-room operation, to the site, as well as 240K SF for food, retail and pop ups. Whole Foods and cycling concept Peloton have inked leases on the site.

Along with the new hotel, the two new office towers and the luxury rental tower, known as the Eugene, the $4.5B project features the Lofts, a 200K SF existing office building, and Five Manhattan West, a 1960s-office building Brookfield spent $350M redeveloping. Amazon and JPMorgan Chase are tenants in that building, which has made Brookfield at least $500M already. The Lofts will feature the Far West Side's first coworking space when Spaces opens its doors.

once the second tower tops off, i think the comparisons will be inevitable. Its going to be weird going up to the ESB observatory and looking west to see glassy twin mini-mes.
