Site Preparation

I think they might have made a little alterations to it as well...

Another Spring Street Tower Preps for Construction
High-rise development would abut the Great Republic Lofts.

by Steven Sharp on May 02, 2016

Holland Partner Group, already in the midst of construction on three Downtown developments, is now preparing to begin work on a fourth.

Last week, the Vancouver, Washington-based developer fenced off a nearly one-acre parking lot at 732 S. Spring Street, which will soon give way for a new high-rise building. The proposed 24-story tower will feature 308 residential units above approximatley 7,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

It's really not that bad. They seem to have actually listened to some of the critics and made some necessary changes. Now, while it still looks kinda busy, I think it looks really good. MVE + Partners seem to actually care at least a little bit about community input seeing as how they reached out on UrbanizeLA's comment section and featured their story on Instagram.

I think that once this is complete, barring any sort of value-engineering, these two projects will looks really good. Plus it will kill a huge dead zone in the historic core.

The effect of this tower on Main is not quite as nice as the effect on Spring, but it's a good addition to the urban core nonetheless. Especially if the Main side gets some nice retail below the parking.
