Leimert Park Station and Hindry Station are now official. Metro has agreed to cover the remaining $90 million for Leimert Park using uncommitted funds in the 2014 budget.

Glad this issue is finally over with. Just have to deal with the Crenshaw Subway Coalition's lawsuit now.

There won't be a conversion to light rail until the Valley overturns its Robbins Bill. The Valley screwed itself, not Metro, by only legally allowing a subway to be built and not light rail.

Based on ridership in the Cahuenga Pass, there is a rail transit demand in the Sepulveda Pass. This needs to be a heavy rail line connecting the Orange Line, the Sherman Oaks Galleria, north end of UCLA, Wilshire, Expo Line, maybe 1 or 2 neighborhood stations and then ending at the new South Bay "Union Station" - Century/Aviation Station. That would be an amazing rail line.

Well, there's that too lol.

Just meant that Metro isn't even pursuing a conversion/overturn of the Robbins Bill until ridership reaches that point.

MTA raises plane-train ante for Bob Hope Airport

"The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority voted Thursday to pony up $1.7 million to reach the local match for a decades-old $4.3 million federal grant that will be used to enhance Bob Hope Airport's efforts to foster a "plane-to-train connection" to local transit.

The money will help accelerate construction of a Metrolink station along the Antelope Valley line, among other improvement projects, airport officials said.

The funds will come from Measure R, a half-cent sales tax that was approved by county voters in 2008 to pay for transportation projects..."
