Why would anyone waste time building a BB10 version yet not do an iphone version?

I think this decision is reflective of city council in general. Simply behind the times.

It's really easy to port an app to BlackBerry if you've already made an Android version, and there are actually more people with Android phones than iPhones.

Oh, I know that, but iphone has about a 20% market share while the BB10 has nil.

Actually it looks like they've done very well in Canada in the past couple of months -- they're up to 13% now.

Apparently iPhone is higher than Android in Canada right now as well: http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/05/bla...-reaches-13-5/

The mobile market is extremely segmented and volatile. It's dramatically different from country to country and changes all the time. My guess is HRM just happened to know a developer that does Android stuff.

Forgive my cynicism but it seems a bit of Rube Goldberg-ian overkill to have someone write an app to help one keep track of when garbage day is. Every other week. Except summer.

No iphone because it costs money to put a free app on the itunes store

so as a hobbyist developer your either need to charge for the app, build in ads or take the $100 hit yourself

Yes, but any serious developer would have already paid the fee for on other jobs so they should be able to publish a "free" app for "free".

Does itunes pull the app if the Developer kit fee isnt paid in a particular year?
