Northcliff Rec Center coming down

Demolition for this building started on Thursday. There was a bin and fencing put up about a week prior. I took some photos passing by yesterday (Saturday Aug 10)

As a a facility, the Canada Games Center on Lacewood is the replacement. As a lot, the site was included in Metro Transit's study for a replacement terminal but won't be used. Best guess is nothing yet.

Ah, Northcliffe, I will miss ye.

Mind you, I hadn't swam or even gone near the place for about 20 years, but... still.

Found this: http://www.halifax.ca/council/agenda...0423ca1013.pdf

HRM has declared the building plot and adjacent parking lot as surplus. Tennis court, basketball court and parkland will remain, and the water retention pond is being transferred to Halifax Water.
