I am in total shock...

@CanadiensMTL

Andrei Markov was placed on the active roster list this morning. He will be available for tonight's game.
Time to test that knee to see if we can count on him next season.

EDIT: Gauthier confirms it, Markov IS playing tonight. Would be his first game in 16 months (since November 2010).

I never saw the Leafs-Goons game but I'm guessing there was a no call on Lupuls injury

Welcome back Marky!!!

Markov to Subban and he SCORES!!!

Video Link

Looked rusty in the first two periods but he was a beast in third. Set up Subban on a classic Markov play and makes 2 insane passes that led to 2 breakaways.

Hmm. This photo of Price really leaves a few questions to be answered.

Huge win for the Flames Glencross with goals in 7 straight games now!

The next two games will likely decide their play off chances. San jose and Phoenix are right there in that race for a post season berth. Two wins and they'll be looking good; two losses and and they don't have a hope.

That's actually quite impressive...

EDIT: Markov is amazing...

Q: How is your knee?
A: Still there!

It was pretty damned cool. I'd say 15-20% of the fans were in Jets jerseys/shirts. And with their, shall we say, higher level of enthusiasm - the noise was definitely louder when Winnipeg scored. It was much better than a Leaf/Habs game, and in some respects on par with an Oilers/Canucks game. Except the Jets fans were happy and friendly, not the obnoxious jackasses that attend Canucks games in the 'Dome. I think everyone had a good time at the game regardless of the outcome.

There were sooooo many Manitobans who made the trip out. I met people from at least half a dozen towns outside of Winnipeg. Plus, I think literally every single ex-Winnipegger I know was at the game. Some a couple of rows from us. I kept receiving texts all night from people I haven't seen in years. It was quite the reunion for a lot of people.

It would have been nice to see this go to a 3 point game, because both teams desperately need points to make the playoffs. Oh well.

1 more goal for 11 straight 30 goal seasons for Iginla. Yeah, we sure should have traded him.

Well they're not there to hold hands and sing Kumbaya My Lord.

Right now the Flames are in 8th spot, and if by some miracle they hold on to a play-off spot, there's a good chance they will face the Canucks. Then we we will punish you. I do feel bad for Iginla though.

Now cue the riot remarks, they never get old.

The Canucks are in tough to have guaranteed home ice for more than two possible rounds at the moment. Even if the Flames somehow squeak into the playoffs it appears that the Blues will benefit with the easy out and the Canucks could be facing either San Jose or LA in the first round.

The Canucks are having trouble scoring lately which could be a problem as things tighten up even more in the playoffs. Of course, the first round is usually just a power play competition anyway and then less penalties are called in the later rounds. The Sedins really need to get out of their slump and help the power play go into the playoffs on a roll or there could be trouble.

There's no doubt the flames were missing him. Their play fell off when he went injured and has been better lately. Mind you they had wins over Montreal, Winnipeg and Minnesota.....not exactly powerhouses. Phoenix and SJ will indeed be real tests.

The Canucks might be better off facing SJ or LA. Firswt off they would be more likely to take them seriously, and secondly, they've lost the last two against the Flames....Glencross and Moss back, the Flames seem to be getting into better form, and Kipper has been excellent at times.

Plus Alberta is the biggest redneck magnet in the country. All of our idiots go there to work. Not surprising seeing as the money is so good and its right next door.

This thread just wouldn't be the same without the "Canucks fans are obnoxious", "oh yeah? well all Albertans are hicks!" banter.

I guess the first one at least has some relevance to hockey.

But seriously, Canucks fans...

Well, I'm getting it from both sides. Not only am I an obnoxious Canucks fan, but I'm a redneck who came to Alberta for work. Fucking news to me on both counts.

Yeah, there's no winning for you.

I guess my dad's an obnoxious (?) Flames fan who moved to BC for cheap property and weed.

Most useless pt ever... Markov and the big line ruined the regulation loss.

Markov for stopping a 3 on 1 at the red line with the net empty (what a play) and Desharnais for scoring a few moments later with 3 seconds left to tie the game.

All members of the big line now have over 50 pts.
