Berlin's metro is fantastic, especially with the S-bahn going across the city. The extension looks great, although it is true that a lot of the older stations are ugly.

If the steel mesh on the exteriors of Expo line stations was replaced with glass, like on M-Line stations, they would look a lot cleaner. With the mesh there, you can't see how the external steel structure holds the roof, so the simplicity of the design is hidden.

Paint everything white/light gray, add new lights, replace metal mesh screens with glass, new tiling on floor, and add a few skylights to our expo line, we get:U-Bahn stations!!!!!

that's not berlin's U2 extention....the U2 in berlin goes between Ruhleben and Pankow, thats the Wien (Vienna) U-Bahn in Austria
