Hotels planned for Alexanderplatz now finalised!

Translation using babel fish!

Parking lot at the Alex is cultivated starting from summer. Architecture does not correspond to the desire of the senate despite competition by Uwe Aulich Berlin - the name I invented simply, he sound myself good “, say Wilfried Euler. „Alexander Parkside “calls the managing director of the IVG real estate agency and project development GmbH a new hotel complex close Alexanderplatz, which is to be established behind the earlier house of the travel on the parking lot at the petrol brown road. Kind of building for two hotels, a Hostel as well as a hotel-similar block of flats will be in the summer.

„The Alexanderplatz is one point of attraction for all tourists. The fact that we build now is because of the good location “, says Euler. Hotels and Hostel were bought in the meantime by an investor group from England and Luxembourg. As Euler says will have, a Holiday Inn express hotel with 190 rooms becomes and a Hampton by Hilton hotel with 167 rooms to develop, both two to three stars. A Azure Hostel is planned with 167 rooms. Besides there are 150 dwellings in the block of flats.

The Wallpaper Design Award 2010 is listing Berlin among Best Cities

Great City Short Video including many art spaces and urban fabrics

Laid-back, inexpensive and at the cutting edge of the creative and music scenes, Berlin is a key loci of international design. And, 20 years after the fall of the Wall, the city is as hedonistic as ever. Here curator Carson Chan, architects Wolfram Putz and Lars Krückeberg of Graft and artist Sissel Tolaas discuss how Berlin's unfinished narrative makes the city all the more welcoming to newcomers.

Leipzigerplatz.

plans have been submitted to start construction although there are three objections to access to housing and something about the glass facade? Construction could start in a few months?

http://www.tagesspiegel.de/berlin/na...z/1846166.html

Translation using yahoo!

Huth placed now a building permit for living, Shopping and office. It communicated in addition vorm building committee of the Lower House, one can within 6-8 weeks begin to build. Within 3 years 152,000 square meter could be established, of it to 36,000 square meter pure sales area. Now comes however: Three neighbors want to use and in negotiations of advantages for itself drive the situation out. Huth sees itself there however on a good way. Also is not yet entgültig clearly that the glass side panels may be realized, it might no view axles be destroyed, like that state secretary dung he RST by.

They might state that it'll be urban, but the density looks a bit low for that and the location looks all wrong: divided by a motorway intersection! good luck with it being anything other than an office-park.

Yea, your right about that, but we need to look at the bigger picture! I like the attempt to create a serious of industries stretching from the BBI airport North to nearly the Alexanderplatz!

Which, will encompass airport industries, business parks, leisure, stretching up to the Adlershof area with the bio-chemical, life science industries, film and computer/hi-tec industries. Moving North again to other new industries for the Schoneweide/Johannisthal area and up to the Media-spree areas!

Berlin needs to create new industries as at present she lacks the heavy industries which she was once famed for after the destruction of WW2 and the loss of major players like Siemens, AEG and IG Farben who either all left Berlin or were broken up: IG Farben, which led to both East and West Berlin being both heavily subsidized by both the GDR and the FRG as both cities were basically economically unviable after the war. Maybe less so for East Berlin, but the GDR and communism heavily financed what industries hadn't been stolen by the commies from East Berlin as part of reparations!

New planning for the D1-D3 areas of Alexanderplatz currently owned by Blacksone group! The plans entail refurbishing the Park Inn hotel and building two new buildings either side with plinth zones not 35 m high, but with two towers, one being a 4-5 star hotel?
However, it appears a beach bar is to be built on the D3 site formerly where Saturn was located next to the Park Inn from April next year and they have a 3 year lease!
You'd think they would just tell them to get on with building the Alex and finishing the plans by Kolhoff!

http://www.berlinonline.de/berliner-...039/index.html

Translation using babelfish!

All want to the Alex Because dwellings and shops are in demand, investors look for their chance with new buildings at the Alexanderplatz. Spectacular drafts heat speculations up over a reorganization. The Cologne architect Till upholsterer approximately provided the plans for the organization of the building fields around the park Inn hotel for financial investor Blackstone, to which the hotel and two neighbouring properties belong. Upholsterer suggests the building of two new multistoried buildings, connects the base constructions of three properties and creates a passage with tent-like glass roof between second and the third block. The 150 meters of high „Turmhäuser “and the height of the base constructions (35 meters) do not follow the master plan for the place, the passage and the connection of properties among themselves against it. The plans are to have been discussed with discussions with the senate. The architect speaks of „schemes “. With Blackstone one did not want to express oneself. Tenants and buyers show active interest in an address in the Alexanderplatz. „We had developed a high-rise residential building in the Retro style and would have acquired, say the building field D3 there gladly “Willo Göpel of the citizen of Berlin project developer urban spaces. With an investor from banking sources it gave large interest. One of the two towers would be applicable experts according to in addition, for the operator of a hotel of the upper class - the park Inn aims at a less financially strong clientele.
