I don't re-post photos very often, but I thought this one was pretty awesome - from the Canadian Skyline thread.
I wish there were more photos posted of the skyline taken in the west end.

Would a makeover help change that? (Im 'referring to the Royal Centre, Burrard at Gergia, if that's what you mean).
The Bank of Montreal Tower in Toronto was made over a few years back, as is known, and looks all the better for it.
Could we make over the RBC Royal Centre, and the Hyatt, too?
Or not.

I am sure this painting has been featured here before, but I really like it. Any idea what is the plan with the ugly building itself?

No, it's not. The Cecil was already demolished for the most part. This is the building beside it, which still stands.

I believe they are going to remove the loops from Granville to Pacific and then redevelop that area.

I found this picture on Vancitybuzz but I don't know where they got it. The way the Maddox is highlighted maybe it was from some promotional material for the Maddox about the future area.

Edit: This page has a bit more info and better picture of where the loops are. http://www.straight.com/article-7118...h-end-downtown

i guess i'm being a downer, but the stadium looks garish to me. a few narrow sight lines between towers is enough of a dose for me.
