I went to Las Vegas at the end of June for a friends birthday and miraculously had some time to take photos. It's just incredible how much has changed just in the past four years since I've been there. These are pretty much all on the Strip, I'd wanted to explore more but ran out of time.
First a few from the flight in...
Not exactly my cup of tea, but, this IS Vegas!
Glad I'm not driving!
Back to my hotel...the first time NOT staying at the Luxor...
...and onto the monorail up to the Stratosphere
The monorail stops "one block" away, requiring a bit of a walk
Downtown Las Vegas
Back to the Strip
Caesar's Palace shops
And that's it...a few parting shots from the plane home.
Nicely done.
I was at the MGM in late June also. I don't see myself in any of your shots. Maybe if you had gotten a few more of the blackjack tables...
I have a love/hate thing with Vegas. It's usually a good time though. I had my fill, but I'm sure I'll get the urge again in a another couple of years.

Damn it man, I'm thinking about driving 3.5 hours from Phoenix to Vegas now after viewing this, which is never cheap, no matter how low the hotel rooms go for now.
I went to Las Vegas last April and I LOVED it. There was always plenty of stuff to do, the food in the hotels (especially the buffets) were fantastic. I was amazed how big Ceasars Palace and the Venetian were. Las Vegas has become very urban and is extremely attractive at night where the whole city is lit up. I can't wait to go their again!
Vegas threads are always interesting. Thanks for the pics!
Man, the Hilton on the North side of the strip (it can be seen easily in the pics from the Stratosphere) looks very similar to the one they built in Austin a few years ago.

These are some awesome photos! I used to live there and I can tell you I don't miss the traffic! I think the coolest places in Vegas are far from the strip, like Red Rocks, Joshua Tree Highway, or Mt. Charleston.
There are two types of people in the world. Those who hate Vegas and those who actually get it. Sure, it's a concrete sham, but it's great fun. Do Not Take Seriously. Have Fun.
Very nice pics. So, what's going on with City Center? Is it almost finished?
That sums it up very well. I don't know why people can't just enjoy Vegas, it is what it is.
