Oh but wait! Do I actually like an aspect of that parking podium??? Those glass elevators look kinda cool. Looks like they will be a away from the windows which is a good thing considering it's south facing and would make riding in one of those pretty toasty, especially on a warm sunny winter day...

Could we get a late-night/24 hour restaurant in there?! That would make me like this building. It's sorely needed in that area after leaving the clubs at 3:30am on saturday night.

And maybe we can just hang some giant rainbow flags from the parking podium facade to make it a bit more interesting. It is facing 4th street after all, lol.

A 24 hour restaurant does sound good for that area. Flags and all. I'm still irritated that we still don't have a rainbow crosswalk. It's utterly stupid and small minded for a couple of neighboring businesses would make a big deal about it. This is Austin, should have been the very first city in the state to have rainbow crosswalks, now every big city in the state has them except us. Utterly ridiculous!

Meh, that's one thing I'm okay about. Did you see the colored crosswalk between West Mall and the Drag at UT? It turned black within 3 months, lol. I'd imagine the same would probably happen to a rainbow crosswalk here.

Yeah, I wouldn't want tires treading on my colors. Now flags and banners I can get on board with, we can all use more colors downtown besides red, white and blue.

So our hotel apparently looks like a better version of one of the ZaZa hotels in Houston.

Guys, I know we're all in love with this building but I really recommend checking it out in person at night. The lighting is so subtle, warm, and welcoming.

I like the aqua glow from the pool. I can picture it schimmering against the building when people are splashing around. Overall its quite beautiful except for the harsh lighting from the parking garage. Very warehouse looking.

That crosswalk was never meant to last. Also do you see crosswalks in other cities dirty? West Hollywood has had theirs for years and with regular maintenance just like maintenance on other street markings, they look just fine. The crosswalks in the other Texas cities look just fine. Not making this into a debate or anything just simply pointing out that the UT crosswalk was only temporary.

Now back to ZaZa

Yes this building is very nice at night, already has made a major impact with foot traffic and street interaction.

If it was recently removed, then there's a good chance that it just was killed (or otherwise severely damaged) by the ice storm.

The tree wasn’t real. It was just a fake tree with its branches covered in pink lights

It was recently removed. Hope it comes back. It was a perfect violet and beginning to become iconic.
