Initial reaction: Hamilton is the seat of NDP; why would Ford wanna fund its LRT?

Then I realized Eisenberger's PC.

Sometimes I really wonder what SSP-ers in the Ottawa-Gatineau forum think when they see my avatar (profile picture). It must be very misleading.

That’s a long time to sit as an independent. I wonder if she is going to run for the Liberal leadership.

I'm not at all surprised. The Ontario PCs have been pretty bad to Franco-Ontarians since Mike Harris was Premier. But Ford took things to new lows and his ignorance is already costing him.

I live in Timmins and there is a rally planned at the shared office of our MPP Gilles Bisson and MP Charlie Angus this weekend. I don't even remember this sort of thing happening in Timmins specifically for Francophones.

The moves by the Ford government have really pissed off people here and I'm starting to see the Franco-Ontarian flag flown not just at institutions anymore. I've noticed that the schools' electronic signs are displaying it and asking for solidarity. Posters are up at businesses. And many people are showing their support on social media.

And there is dialogue going on between Quebecers and Franco-Ontarians which is great. Amanda Simard made a wise move in my opinion.

It's way too early to speculate about that. I'm sure that she doesn't want to appear as an opportunist if she eventually joins the Liberals. She made a smart move by sitting as an independent. I don't know if she would want to join the Liberals right now because it would be awkward. But I guess in a few years maybe it might be a good move if the Ford government loses a lot of support.
