Judging by the gas meters, there's at least 5 apartment units in that house.

I like how it's in the same or near the neighborhood were houses are practically overhanging the 6th Avenue Freeway.

For reference, a 3 bed 1 bath house a half block from the next station just sold for $52k. Now that's scary. Two more a block from this station around $60k. We're talking the little 1930 dilapidated 800 sf stick boxes.
Heh, those go for around $250k here in Portland. Up ~500% since the 80s.

Here's an update on progress with the Train Shed

for Nov. 4th, 2012. Platforms are being pored and steel structure is
being put in place. Escalators and elevator cores are under construction:

First half of underground Bus Terminal is all but complete,
as well as the Transit Plaza above it at ground level. The
apartment building in this photo, is now rising above ground level:

This month. It should start going up any day now. By the end of December, it will definitely be taking shape. The next two months, will be very interesting to watch.

Not any more than the average construction project. This is just the normal pace of construction when you're working on an unconstrained site (this is part of the reason for the low cost, too).

The left side in the rendering is facing the historic depot building and the right side will be along the 17th Street pavilion, which sits on top of the bus terminal.

A sneak peek at RTD's FasTracks Eagle trains
Denver Business Journal by Cathy Proctor, Reporter
Date: Friday, November 16, 2012, 4:00am MST

Want to see the first of 50 rail cars that will go through metro Denver on the $2.1 billion FasTracks Eagle P3 project rail lines?...

...They will run from downtown to Denver International Airport, Wheat Ridge and Westminster, and are being built now in a South Korea manufacturing plant, which is where these photos were shot.
Officials from the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Denver Transit Partners (DTP) are in South Korea this week meeting with officials from Hyundai-Rotem, a division of the Hyundai Motor Group, and inspecting the first rail cars being built...

...The shell of the rail cars will be built in South Korea, then taken apart and shipped to a Hyundai-Rotem assembly plant in Philadelphia. There, they will be reassembled and completed.
At least 60 percent of the vehicles will be manufactured in the United States, according to RTD.
The cars are expected to start arriving in Philadelphia in August 2013, and start arriving in Denver in the first or second quarter of 2014, said DTP spokeswoman Laura Rinker.
The line from downtown to DIA is expected to be open to the public in January 2016.

So one of our distinguished Denver forumers leads twice monthly public tours of the Denver Union Station project site. I joined this morning, and snapped a few iPhone shots (which look even worse post-photobucket) of the new train shed going up along the way:

The holes in the ground in these first two photos are the new south and north wing buildings (5-story office/retail) also under construction.

From inside:

This open plaza/sidewalk/garden is 17th Street. The station configuration is I-shaped. I am standing in front of the light rail plaza (lines to the south), looking toward the historic station and downtown. The bus station is underground, under this sidewalk/plaza. The train shed behind the historic station is for lines going north, east (airport), and west.

The red crane in the background is for the apartment building (rendering above) currently under construction.

Not too shabby for a cowtown provincial backwater.

Great shots thanks. How close is the North Wing building to making it out of the ground. Its hard to tell from the webcam.

Good question. I was so enamored by the train shed, I'm not sure I took any shots into the hole! The excavation is there, but the subterranean structure is really just getting started. Halfway there, maybe. And it's a big hole. With the holidays, and the weather this time of year, it'll be a few months still, I'd wager.

EAGLE Project Progress – Railcar Construction
Posted by Ryan Mulligan on November 21, 2012
We have our first detailed look at the ongoing construction of the new rail cars for the EAGLE Project, courtesy of RTD!

As many of you may have seen in a recent Denver Business Journal article, the 50 cars that will be used along the East, Gold, and Northwest corridors are currently under construction in South Korea by Hyundai-Rotem. The basic shells of the cars will be constructed in South Korea before being shipped to another Hyundai-Rotem factory in Philidelphia. At this state-side factory, the rest of the cars will be assembled – everything from the windows to the seats to the propulsion systems will be installed there... Continue Reading Here
