I'll bet that that is one whole piece. That'd explain the crane change. The tower cranes would NEVER be able to handle such loads --- especially further out on the boom. (It could be made of several pieces though.)

We'll see.

I just found out that each panel weighs 45,000 lbs (22.5 tons); . . . 'much too heavy for the tower cranes to handle.

It's several from what i saw on the construction cam. Frame by frame, you can see that section slowly rise.

Many. They are incredibly heavy, it takes one flatbed trailer to carry one piece. There are about 6 trailers lined up beside practice field waiting to unload.

Each piece is 22.5 tons then. That's impressive!

Does anyone know where these pre-cast pieces are being manufactured? It would be a shame if all of this work is coming from outside the Province.

I think they are being made here. My evidence is that all the flatbeds have SK licence plates.
But I could be completely out to lunch as well.

They are being made at Souris Valley Industries in Weyburn, Sask.

They sure are flying them in there quick! There are a lot of trucks waiting. I wouldn't be surprised to see the east side done within the week at the current rate (the the seating tiers anyway)

Also when I was watching a few weeks back watching them crane lower sections into place there were two / truck. This appears to still be the case.

Most of the upper deck of the west side has now been flown into place. Including the tunnel entrances. I expect they should be done that by the end of the week! Looking great!

They have not done the overhang portion of the upper deck as you can see from Migs picture from yesterday.

@YQRstadium
I'm betting that Mosaic Stadium will be above the glass centrepiece.

I am going to guess that there will be stand-offs in the curtain wall mullions that support the signage.
