The WTC appeals hearing was conducted. Given the fact that the plaintiff failed to show in court, or even hire a lawyer to simply file for an extension of the case would make me believe the appeals court will uphold the lower court's ruling. We'll find out soon enough.

Proposal 1 for Airport Retail
Pacific Gateway Concessions LLC

The San Francisco-based company is partnering with New Orleans artist and entrepreneur Charlotte Henry and her company Harley London LLC, national duty-free store developer EJE Travel Retail and NOLA Couture owner Cecile Hardy.

Pacific Gateway’s line up includes Hattie Sparks boutique, Dirty Coast T-shirt purveyors, Pulp and Grind juice and coffee bar and NOLA Couture boutique. Southern Food and Beverage Museum would curate culinary gifts for all the news and gift shops. Student art from YAYA (Young Artists, Young Aspirations) and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts would also be for sale.

The company would also bring in national brands Lolli and Pops confections, which has 40 locations in the U.S. and The New Stand, “a complete reinvention of the typical newsstand,” according to Pacific Gateway’s proposal.

Starbucks on Freret

So they are building a Starbucks on Freret?! Whaaaattt??? That's *insane*.
Also, I will say that as someone who occasionally does drink Starbucks, I find it frustrating that they are all concentrated Uptown and CBD. You would think Mid City would have one now...especially by the hospital...just saying.

After reading this article about the former Village Coffee owners and their thoughts on Freret and the City... I have to say good riddance and don't let the door hit ya!

http://uptownmessenger.com/2016/07/v...-up-for-lease/

I would rather see a CC's or another local business, but I'll take all the development we can get.

They're driving pilings in at the World Trade Center. Is this the start of the Four Seasons work, or related to something else?

I think some of their complaints are legitimate. An independent business is much harder to run than a Starbucks. The whole Freret Streetscape project was a mess and was left unfinished for months and had to be redone, so after several years of that, the Jefferson ave project starts up and goes on for 4+ years. Now that is a bit different due to the drainage component, but in general, the city (and state too) takes an absurdly long time to get these projects done.

Tulane Ave

Hey, two Tulane Ave questions:
1. Does anyone know what will be going in that new building (renderings above) on Tulane Ave?
2. Why is the street completion delayed yet again? When will it finish?

Bonus question:
3. When will Tulane Ave get a Starbucks next to the new hospital?!
