I was thinking of ice cream for dessert so I checked to see if The Cone was coming back this year, but they shut it down. Not sure why, I'm guessing it's because the sisters have finished university.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce we have sold The Cone.

These past two years have been absolutely amazing and we couldn't have done it with out YOU! Thank you to the people who came for ice cream ... and then came again! To the people who just stopped to say hello. To the people who followed us on social media, took photos of us, told your friends, family and strangers about us and who helped us out when we were in need ... THANK YOU.

Thank you to our parents who were the back bone of this business, who dropped everything to take our phone calls, listened to us complain about the rain, brought us dinners, worked the cash register and everything in between.

We are so sad that this journey is ending but so fortunate to have had this incredible experience and grateful that you all were part of it with us.

From the bottom of our hearts we love you and we'll miss you!

Sheridan and Shelby

Yes she's another travel blogger that was paid by Explore Edmonton to come here, but she said it's her first visit to Canada.

I agree she nailed a great selection. She must have had help with that list - from someone other than a food critic.

Had the chance to visit Alta Saturday night for some cocktails and samplings. Everything I had was delicious and to learn about how they created each dish from a chef was incredibly interesting.

CHICKEN LIVER ON BRIOCHE / PICKLED BERRIES / BALSAMIC / SUNFLOWER SHOOT

LAMB TARTARE / WALNUT "MISO" / PICKLED BABY PEACHES / POTATO

Some kind of brownie 'like' dessert that was amazing.

I am certainly going back for a proper meal and while it will not be something everyone likes, it did exactly what I hoped it would, intrigue me and my mouth.

If it hasn't been mentioned, the BP in Ice District will be in Tower D (NW Retail bay), 2 levels of restaurant/lounge
Not sure on the opening date, but I'd wager a guess they would want to try and be up and running before the 2017/18 NHL season

That's gonna be very tempting as there isn't a lot of food options around the Stadium area besides McDonald's, Subway or a la carte from Save On... And a questionable "pizza" place where last time I was in, pretty sure the employees went in the back to hook up whilst my pie was being cooked...

The Parlour is pretty solid and close enough for a great pizza.
10334 – 108 Street (Capital Blvd)

That said there are many places within 1 block - like the Spaghetti Factory and 7-10 other places on the same block as well as all the places in The Mercer. Heck there is no need for any place in ID - as there are so many choices within 1 block and many more within 2 blocks.

^ I think he's talking about the Commonwealth Stadium area getting a Chicken On The Way. It would help if he'd learn to use the quote feature when the thread goes into other directions by the time he replies.

Yeah, kind of had that take on it. A few blocks further though, some pretty amazing eats in little Italy or Tony's on 111 ave.

"Former?" It shut down already? Sort of wanted to go one day. Should have known their premise of "bottle soda" wasn't a long term money making scheme.
