Under the Maryland/Sherbrook bridges are covered in garbage... looks like a landfill under the Maryland Bridge right now. I honestly think you're better off calling 311 to complain about garbage on City of Winnipeg property... councillors, especially the progressive ones, aren't going to do anything because:
- they don't want to 'stigmatize homelessness' or something
- they are okay with leaving homeless camps everywhere because it gives them an opportunity to point to another level of government and say 'this is your problem plz give $$$'

The city is usually pretty good about updating status of capital and walk/bike projects on its website, but there's been nothing about the River/Assiniboine AT bridge since last October... anyone heard anything?

Can the city make a store owner turn lights down inside a shop? Za Pizza's window lighting is blinding from the street, it's out of control lol.

You will want to see the legal precedent from Kramer v. Kenny Roger's Roasters.

Not a bad design. Hmmm. Hard to decide whether an "SRO" apartment would be a good choice for OV. EIA currently pays a maximum of $576 for RentAssist. The $600 promised would be closer to that max. But we all know that they'll find a way to bump up the Rent once the project would be finished.

My understanding is it's not at all going to be low income housing (ie, what we typically think of when we think 'SRO'). It's more geared toward people who may just be living in Winnipeg for a short time, or are away with work a lot, and don't mind sharing some facilities (eg, neighbours).

So it's basically just another apartment building, but with shared bathrooms or kitchen spaces.

^ I can understand why that's touchy. SRO doesn't really have the greatest connotations.
