You are looking at the Evanston proposal KWIll, they are referring to an Oak Park one, although I had never heard of such a project to be honest. I'd love to see renderings as well

Nevermind, found it http://albion-residential.com/projec...n-at-oak-park/

I like it, Oak Parks is superior IMO. The base for Evanston's is pretty lame

Evanston is not too bad density-wise. Oak Park is a nightmare to drive and park.

That is why I walk to the El. In fact the El connection to the loop and West Loop (Morgan sta) is often given as what is driving these developments. Ironically the same folk who bring up traffic at the city hall meetings are the fiercest proponents of blocking off Marion every Thursday.

WILL YOU DINGLEBERRIES PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT OFF-TOPIC BULLSHIT IN THIS THREAD.

this is NOT the "here's what i think is wrong with chicago, so i'm gonna whine like a little bitch about it" thread.

if you don't have a comment or news or photo update to post about a specific chicago highrise development, then go away.

They want the best of both worlds. It's tough finding that urban sweet spot.

They want access to light and heavy rail. They also want to own two cars. They want quick access to a ton of shops and restaurants. But they want the town to act like an isolated quaint little village.

LOL, I like the fake blocked-in windows on Veridian's party wall. They even did a soldier course and (hard to tell from the photo) maybe a lintel above each "opening". If I didn't know better, I'd say they were planning ahead for windows on that side...

That's the old boiler house. Getting repurposed, according to this rendering:
