Perhaps you haven't heard but we artificially limit the height of our towers so it's really not a good indicator of our stature.

Nice photo though.

You would hate some large cities in Japan then.

I may be wrong but from what I saw in person and have searched on the database, the city of Fukuoko (metro 5.5 million) only has a single tower taller than Vancouver's tallest (an observation tower at 234 meters, but the bulk of the tower tops out at around 160 meters). The second tallest is 149 meters...

Vancouver is actually overall taller than many Japanese cities, especially those similar in population. Same goes for Europe.

Vancouver's general approach to height seems to be mid range on the world scale.

It is not a tall city, but also it is not a stout city either. Despite not being extremely tall, it is still tall enough to have a "city of towers" feeling IMO.

Toronto and especially Calgary are actually really tall for their population sizes in regards to cities around the world overall. (no they are not among the super tall cities, but such cities are actually the exceptions, not the rules, and often have much larger populations than any city in Canada).

I'm fine with a bit of winter, but looking back a bit, this one almost made me cry. Shorts, T-shirt, kayak, cold drink, 27C . . . ahhhhhhhhh.

Excellent stuff, guys! I love how Vancouver has green grass at the same time that we have everything covered in snow here in Burnaby and in Surrey.

That's so weird that Stanley Park has no snow at all. I didn't even notice thay. Here in Burnaby there is ice and snow mountains everywhere, it feels really magical.

Yeah I drove through Burnaby today and it is crazy how much more snow is still on the ground compared to south Vancouver.

Someone (Klazu? should take some downtown skyline shots from near where the East Van cross monument is on Clark, it is such a good viewpoint for having the towers rise up. I go to the skyline thread on the general Canada forum and Vancouver has some good ones up there, but for some reason the photos are always a bit underwhelming compared to the reality, you don't get that rising feeling. Also I went up to the top of Queen E park last week to see the snow scene, and didn't realize the skyline vantage point you get up there is unreal, would love to see some good real camera photos of the skyline from up there too
