"human geog"? does that replace what used to be known as urban geog?

Been on for a short while, but was in Calgary when I joined.

I'm a Realtor who specializes in new Presale developments.
I used to sell a number of the new developments talked about on here, but now mostly work with the buyers of them instead.
This forum is a priceless resource for me to educated myself further on my industry.
Thanks to those who share their wealth of knowledge.

I'm originally from the Lower Mainland, but currently living in the Okanagan.

I'm currently a student.

I've been creeping the forum as a guest for a few weeks now, and it seemed interesting enough that I figured I'd join

I am a large cat living in Burnaby but cycling everywhere. I hope to take photos of new highrises and discuss transit developments. And much more.

I hope Catfé opens soon.

Absolutely unsure if I want to get involved in a forum. But here goes. Why? I'm a sucker for built things: photos of, the processes behind them . . .

My 1st life: way too much university (it's embarassing), way too many universities

My 2nd and current life:
- professional (architect, landscape + urban design)
- academic (professor)
- writer
- used to be an artist (painting and drawing) but I can't anymore: essential tremor
- that's right, an architect who can't draw (clients love it)
- lots of normal stuff like family/friends, kids, good food, travel, art, movies, dance (strictly watching), hiking, climbing, falling, kayaking, even gardening and all the other stuff
- often I just wish I was out mountain biking, which again means falling

Promise: no bullshit, no unproductive posting, aiming to be objective and hopefully informative and that's all (this might mean I will post infrequently).

Promise: I know a lot of the players from Victoria/Gulf Islands to Vancouver to the Okanagan (architects, developers and municipal types) and I will see if i can give a bit of an insider's perspective, so long as it is fair, not confidential, legal and otherwise appropriate.

Promise: maybe some humour, but this will be my one and last emoticon -

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and see if any one else relates to me.

As a teenager (now 28), i've always enjoyed looking at downtown skylines and always impressed by Vancouver's DT. Now that all these city centers are growing in the suburbs such as Metro/Brentwood/Lougheed/Surrey, im excited to see what the future brings. I also find it interesting how Vancouver is rank 5th in all of North America for the number of high rises despite our small population. Burnaby itself is ranked 28th beating many major cities in USA and Canada.

Just wanted to share my interest and hope to see more beautiful views of our city
Luc

Hey everyone although i'm not that new but i've never introduced myself.

I've lived all over the country on both coasts and even in the concrete jungle (TO) don't judge lol.

Lived in Vancouver off and on since the late seventies.

I Love this city and voice this city has and it's big heart. Passionate people would be an understatement. Comparable to the passion of newfoundlanders... imo the kindest people on the planet.

This is a great forum, glad to be a part of it and I learn so much about the city i call home even after all of these years.

great people and extremely well run.
