CTrain in the East Village, with the new ArriVa condo tower in the background

another Saturday night in Forest Harlem

1886 Cafe

traffic backed up heading IN to downtown in the afternoon rush hour

I was offered crack within about 12 seconds of pulling in to the beer store parking lot to take this pic

rainy night on Macleod Trail, the Cactus Club Cafe

London condos

PetroCanada Centre

Gulf Canada Square framed by Bankers Hall in the reflection. Gulf Canada Square is named for an oil company that no longer exists. It was ahead of its time in energy conservation in the early 1980s and is unique in that there is no furnace for the building.

Bankers Hall east tower and the Hollingsworth building in the foreground

Calgary Courts Centre atrium in the rain. A security guard kicked me out of the alley after I took this pic. It is the largest court house in Canada, over 1 million square feet including the atrium between the 2 towers.

Sasso + Vetro condo towers

CTrain carries a phenomenal 250,000 sardines every weekday. North America's most successful LRT system for ridership.

TransCanada building. Tied for 4th tallest in Calgary with Canterra. It was the last major office building to be built in Calgary around the turn of the century. Now there are about a dozen office buildings in various stages of construction with plenty more planned. Two of the projects are in the billion dollar range.

Stella and Nova condos, to be joined by third sister Luna

cranes at Keynote, 2 condo towers and one office building, ArriVa condos in the distance which is the first of three towers, and the short crane in the distance is the Ribtor office building.

Beat Niq, the place for jazz in the basement of the Grain Exchange, Calgary's original "skyscraper"

Glenmore Trail looking eastbound. Calgary's biggest road project ($110 million +) partially opened this summer. Traffic has really improved in the GE5 area from my point of view.

ArriVa condos in June. Move-ins start any week now. The first of 3 condo towers. The crane for the Stampede casino is in the foreground.

Huge downpour, June 5, Elbow Drive. It was way worse elsewhere but I was stranded on high ground at home, thankfully!
The mud in the foreground is our driveway and the shrub floating away was sacrificed for GE5 (Glenmore Elbow 5 Street) road widening. It took 13 months, but we now have a paved driveway, a new sprinkler system, and a new front lawn.
