Do we have an idea of what restaurant is going there? Personally I doubt it'll be a chain, due to the unique building shape.

It's going to look SO different with Star of the Sea, MIX, and Mirador.

I wish! Nope, it's just from 351's gallery. There's a link to the source below the picture.

Ahhh... thank you, Colin! Good to know.

Boston Pizza's not so bad. Typical downtown fare in any city. And it's good to have a couple of safe chains for American and Canadian visitors.

I was initially disappointed about Boston Pizza, until I thought about the quality, and quantity, of restaurants in our downtown. In all fairness, we have a HUGE number of unique, local restaurants located downtown... and almost no chains. If anything, chains are what we lack downtown. Now, I'm not suggesting that we NEED chains... I much prefer local restaurants. I've just decided that I'm indifferent if it is a Boston Pizza. Major cities have ALL the chains in their downtown, mixed in among the local fare. I'm just going to take this as a sign that our downtown has grown to the point where chains actually want to be located there, and that's a good thing, but until they start running the local restaurants out of their space I'm not going to worry. A Boston Pizza in a large office building isn't something that bothers me. I'd much rather them located there, than in another box store in a power center.

I kind of assumed we would see a chain restaurant go there. Boston Pizza is a good as any, I suppose. I probably would have preferred a chain that is a little more rare in these parts, but downtown is certainly a better location than in a big box development. One thing our downtown is chain restaurants. And while I don't think we need very many (and certainly are not a necessity), It would be nice to have at least a few down there.

The small restos downtown just can't compete with the economies of scale of corporations like Boston Pizza and PF Changs - we'll see how it goes but I am not very optimistic.

The chains I would rather see downtown are of the cheap variety - even a McDonald's, Burger King, some take-away places - all of that crap.

Boston Pizza is sit-down (so it will rival the sit-down variety downtown), and it's costly and not very good.. ha

I agree with the not very good part. I've eaten at Boston Pizza at least 5 times and I can't say I've ever enjoyed it very much.

I'd love to see a Mcdonalds on Water Street. I think that would be really cool!

That spot will be operated by the same group behind the keg and harbor walk so I'm surprised that it would be a Boston Pizza.

The statement still works. But perhaps change it to "North American visitors".
