Here's the translated version via the translate feature. Looks like its just stores. Square meters being the key. Although I'd be nice if it said 298 meter tower.

Yup. That's why it sounds like Borat is talking. Worse is the translation feature for the Shenzhen projects I keep track of. Dyslexia paradise.

But yeah with Chrome, just right click and it will give the option to translate the page to English. But they've made good progress in implementing one.

This towers design is one of my favorite of the boom. Although not tall compared to the monsters uptown, the design is innovative and fresh in an area that could do with inspiring modern architecture. I sincerely hope NY contnues down this road.

Thank you

If they can truly execute that curtain wall with diagonal seems in the glass - and no visible vertical seems - this will be a truly unique tower.

^ I think it's just a crummy rendering. Notice the two taller buildings in the background that don't really exist. Probably one of those farmed out Chinese jobs.

Midtown site once primed for skinny tower back on the market
The future of Turkish developer Nef’s plans for the East 37th Street site are up in the air

January 25, 2016
Katherine Clarke

Quote:
A Midtown site once slated to be developed into a skinny 700-foot residential tower is back on the market, The Real Deal has learned.

The site, at 12-14 East 37th Street, has a small 51 by 100-feet footprint but is not subject to any height restrictions, meaning it could become the latest slender spire on the Manhattan skyline.

Turkish development firm Nef announced last year that the tower would be its first foray into the New York market. It even tapped architecture firm Perkins + Will to design a show-stopping, superslim tower, which included built-in parks and even an outdoor cinema.

But its deal for the site never closed and its ongoing interest in the site is uncertain. A spokesperson for the company was not immediately available for comment.

Ackman Ziff’s Jason Meister, David Robinov and David Borden are now marketing the site for sale again. They declined to provide an asking price but industry insiders said the parcel is likely worth somewhere in the range of $65 million to $75 million.

“Sites with these kinds of central locations very rarely come on the market,” Meister said.

The brokers declined to comment on the identity of their client but public records indicate that the owner is Morris Bildirici, whose family has owned the property since the late 1980s.

The site could be developed as either a condo or a hotel.

Nef had planned 65 apartments, ranging from 400-square-foot studios to 1,800-square-foot floor-through units.

Jr was right again

Quote:
The existing building still stands. It's pretty small and could come down quickly. If suspect that the Turks will need a local partner in order to secure financing.

Given problems with the Turkish economy, the Developer might even try to flip this site.

I think its a blessing in disguise. Hopefully a prominent developer like Extell, Vornado or Stern can jump on this site.

I wouldn't worry. This site has potential. Something bigger will rise here. In this boom, a 700 footer can be lost, for a brief time, but we have so much going on that this tower is nada.
