The Canuck fans I know have a problem with the diving on their team. they are embarrassed by it last year, and even more so this year, now that they are not getting away with it. There's just a few fans on here who are oblivious to the problem the rest of the league has been fingering for the last 2 season or more. Perhaps they will listen now that their own media has finally caught on to what the rest of the media and fan world has been saying, and actually calling out the canucks on it.
It was just a weak attempt to deflect the criticism of their precious do-no-wrong canucks to say "Alberta haters".
How anyone outside of Hughson (the ultimate canucks homer) can still defend this teams antics is beyond me.... (wait for it... here comes the usual defence mechanism "but look where the Oilers or flames placed this year" or "here's some irrelavant stat on how many times the canucks have actually been caught diving" and a bunch of big words that make me feel good about myself (promethus)

Indeed, all this "Alberta Boys" nonsense is so laughable.. the dislike of the Canucks is all over.

Anyway, sweep!

Where is their precious presidents trophy now? First place in the west? LOL!

Doesn't mean much in the end now does it.

Anybody know if any stores in Edmonton are carrying this t-shirt? I'm sure they'd sell like crazy..

I don't know much about the writer, but this article from "The Hockey Writers" on diving seems pretty much spot on. The gist of the article also applies to "dirtiest" and "whiniest" team.

Quote:
The Stanley Cup Playoffs kick off this evening with three big games and in the coming two months will provide us with intense drama. It will also provide us with diving. Along with that diving will come players, coaches, general managers, fans , columnists and anyone with a rooting interest in complaining about diving.

When the complaining about diving becomes as bad as the diving itself we have reached critical mass.

Some things that we need to get out on the table before we go any further. Is diving a growing problem in the NHL? Yes. Should something be done about it? Absolutely. Is there one team that dives more than the other? Not really.

You can easily make a compilation of dive videos that would brand every team a bunch of divers...

The Justin Williams dive doesn't get any mention of course. Or the Kris Letang dive.

Well, at least their former glory aren't as far away.

Really good Sens / Rangers game right now. 0 - 0 games can be just as exciting as those Flyers / Pens games!

Good game between the Caps and Bruins. I wanted the Caps to win...I can't stand Tim Thomas.

Brad Marchand with the GREATEST DIVING SHIFT OF ALL-TIME!!

Marchand is even worse than Kesler.

That was only the last 5 minutes...

Well, you would be the expert.

I must say he's better at it than Kesler, though. It's not fair to say he doesn't make it look a tad more convincing than any of the Kesler flops this series

At least contact was actually made.

Hopefully my Preds can take a 3-1 lead tonight in Detroit. We have to get our power play going though.

After taking a long look at the Canucks, I've essentially decided that they're "Penguins West". Both teams are highly talented teams that have been taken off their games by opponents that seem to match up well and play a more naturally aggressive style. Both have responded to that style by being horribly whiny and atrociously idiotic. The leadership of these two teams has failed them. Both were sensible picks to make it to the finals, but are now down 3-0 in the opening rounds of the playoffs.

The Finals last year were embarrassing enough, but there was still something to defend there. This series has been nothing but disgraceful, and there are a lot of characteristics that need to be rooted out of the Canucks organization.

Yes im glad the Penguins are epically failing making my Canucks fail easier to take. And none of us are big kesler fans right now for the record.
