EDIT: Sorry, misread your post. Here's the website for Vista! They're quoting $27-28 / SF rents on a NNN basis. Highest in the city.

I work in the MedCtr.

This area keeps getting more density, which I want to cheer.

Problematically, there is no relation to the streetscape from these projects. The new parking garage at University hospital has no street interaction other than entrance and exit for vehicles and the same looks to be true for the 8-10 story parking structure that Methodist is building.

What is crushing is that these structures are going to be around for the next 50 years and, therefore, paint a picture of the future of the area. Auto-friendly development in ever-growing density.

I don't mind a 10-story garage as long as the ground level is used wisely, for retail or some other kind of human interactivity. At least that way people can park in the garage but still have a walkable environment.

I should've made the point that they lack this interaction. Just massive garages with no street interplay... The University Garage is on a major intersection - could have had great retail presence. But alas...

Anyone know what's going up at the NEC of Loop 1604 and I-10? Looks like a small storefront or something.

Indoor Skydiving!!!!
I saw the sign on the building while going up the cloverleaf to 1604.
They have indoor skydiving in Houston, off the Katy freeway.

It's iFLY San Antonio. The company is HQ'd in Austin and currently has 18 locations in the U.S. (four in Texas). I think SA's location is one of six in development.

Really cool place! I love it!

Hey, let me know if these have been posted about already and I'll remove them. Here are some new developments I have recently found:

1: Agora Palms (Apartments)
(Hardy Oak Blvd. north of Methodist Stone Oak Hospital)
(from: http://www.odenhughesllc.com/plans/)

The Agora Palms is 312 unit, 12 buildings, garden style apartment complex located in San Antonio, at Loop 1604 and Hwy 281.

These apartments are similar in style to the Bella Terra Apartments in Houston.

2. RIALTO (Apartments) 1-10 and Ralph Fair Rd.
(Behind Walgreens/Schlotzsky's)
Also an Oden-Hughes project.

OVERVIEW
Rialto is a 274 unit garden style complex, with 8 buildings, clubhouse and pool, plus amenities.

3. Infinity Apartments at The Rim
Located in the lot next to Aura at The Rim facing Talavera.
https://www.recenter.tamu.edu/news/n...xas?Item=12563

4. New Garden Style Apartments (Stone Oak Pkwy)

The Hot Wells Hotel and Spa’s unlikely century-plus journey from elite retreat to park for the people
By Tommie Ethington
San Antonio Magazine
June 2016
http://www.sanantoniomag.com/June-20...rom-the-Ruins/

Quote:
Almost a century later, a new Hot Wells era is set to begin. The walls of the bathhouse, many of them covered in graffiti and long a magnet for curious passersby, are the building blocks of a project to turn Hot Wells into the county’s first-ever cultural historical park.
Quote:
“Hot Wells always had a place deep in the hearts and imaginations of San Antonians,” Lifshutz says. “When I bought the property, I hoped that someday I would be able to return it to the public—it’s only taken me 18 years.”
I would love it if he reopened that well!

Rackspace sold

Wonder what impact, if any, this will have:

http://www.investors.com/news/techno...apollo-global/

Rackspace (RAX) early Friday accepted a $4.3 billion, $32-a-share buyout offer from Apollo Global Management (APO), after years of takeover speculation — which resurfaced in recent weeks — for the cloud-computing pure play.

Rackspace stock closed Friday at 30.19, so the offer is only a 6% premium. But the San Antonio-based company was trading near 22 early this month when the latest takeover rumors surfaced.

Impact?

The company has announced that Rackspace will keep their logo and, they will keep the headquarters in San Antonio.
As for an impact, I'll say there will definitely be a POSITIVE impact in San Antonio, as the city will have several more millionaires, due to the sale of Rackspace!!
