Some revisions to the design and size have been made as the ground breaking draws near (November 17).

Official latest rendering.

Unofficial latest design rendering by myself.

The latest published height is 45 stories at 543 ft. And its official name is back to '505 CST'. Stay tuned.

Crane base and some segments being delivered right now in the middle of the night. Here we go, finally, over a decade later and about a half dozen significant design overhauls/proposals.

Crane assembly is underway, and you can check the progress via the Oxblue MDHA garage webcam.

505 is actually the pit on the right. The left side is the new downtown MDHA garage, which will have the 505 amenities deck on top, so it is a semi-joint venture in that regard.

It's just very impressive to have 3 regular boom cranes on roughly 2/3 of a city block in length and 1/3 wide of a block.

Thanks for catching that. I glanced at the renderings to make sure it was the site against the intersection before posting. Derp moment there!

This is quite cool! Maybe you could take a picture from the webcam every day and then put it into a slideshow to show us all when you have finished so we that we can see the build progression!?

Construction Begins on 45-Storey 505 Project

Quote:
Featuring a design by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the tower will also contain two 800-square-foot retail spaces and a large restaurant. According to the project's webcam which shows a deep excavated pit where the tower will rise, construction on the development has started. The adjacent parking garage is now reaching ground level. The $169 million project should be ready for occupancy by the last quarter of 2017.

Giarratana Development's 505 on the rise in central Nashville

Quote:
In the six months since our last update on Giarratana Development's 45-storey 505 condo tower currently on the rise in central Nashville, progress has been moving along well, with the first few floors of the structure now reaching above grade. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the $169 million tower, set to become Music City's second tallest upon its completion in late 2017, will soon be home to 500 residential units along with a mix of retail and restaurant spaces at its base.

As of February 5, 2017...

...and looking west, 505 is the building furthest back. This section of Church Street is becoming quite dense with high rises.

The core appears to be at or slightly above the height of the Fifth Third building across the street. For a final height of 550 feet, there should still be several floors to go, too. The rising structure is now clearly visible from numerous vantage points around town.

The glazing is complete to about halfway up the structure. It looks good!

I don't have any pictures, or I'd post them. Maybe someone else has a snap or two they can share.

That's a fairly mundane looking office building called 222... I think that's about as tall as it's going to get, which is, I believe 315 feet.

But yeah, you're right...Nashville's core is absolutely on fire right now. In that shot alone there are another, I think, fourteen buildings between 200-500 feet either under construction or in advanced stages of pre-construction, and that isn't counting the ones under construction that are prominent in that photograph, like the aforementioned 222, Bridgestone HQ (to the left of 222) or Paramount in the middle of the picture.
