S i n g a p o r e

The second leg of my South East Asian travels took me to Singapore having got the train down from the middle of Malaysia. I didn't expect to love Singapore too much, but it was a lot less sterile than I had expected, and I actually really enjoyed it. I have tried to show a more human side to the often captured architecture and skyline (though of course I have included some of that as well).

Hope you enjoy!

Great shots! The daily life is captured so well!

Singapore to me as well is a lot more down to earth indeed than expected away from the picture perfect center. The city is really alive.

mmmm...I crave Chicken Rice from a hawker stand.

Singapore is basically SimCity in an island jungle. The new Safdie resort just looks sick. I love the fact that everything on the left side of your first photo wasn't there the last time I was there in 2006.

Excellent photos.

I do like a bit of the old 'pore.

Bugis junction, Raffles Place, Little India, Chinatown - covered very well.

And it's always funny how people often think of Singapore as sterile - I actually think of it in reverse: it's an Oasis in the middle of dirty Asia (not to say dirty Asia doesn't have its charms!).

Great thread, Xander202!

Your pictures are sensational, very sharp, colourful. I´ve liked everyone very much.

Skylines and urban scenes are fantastic!

Congratulations and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Nice photos! Singapore is such a fascinating place, being both modern and exotic.
