It may not be very tall or much to look at, but at least it will block the view of 405 Colorado from Auditorium Shores.

Oooof. I actually forgot about 405. I had to go back and check out that thread. I was a bit rough on it. Tech House (RIP) posted a lot on that thread and others. I really miss that guy. I kind of want to go into lampoon mode with both these buildings, but I have seen worse. I agree about 300 Colorado blocking out 405 from the south and hopefully 405 will mostly only be visible from street level where it may not look that bad. I think 300 will look pretty handsome when its completed. My change of heart for this is due to an uptick of quite a few extra ordinary buildings going up. If the exterior looks like the render when done, though a bit on the pedestrian side, this could be a nice surprise and a good value add to the skyline. Sorry Tech House, I know you are rolling in your grave about my 'bout face

The site plan hasn't been approved and released yet. When that happens we can see if the final elevations match the FAA number.

Looks like the site will be used as a parking lot until then. Passed by moments ago.

Wow. What a let down. Odd to mobilize as they did then sit. Is something astray?

They already filed a tower crane permit, and the construction start dates posted on the AULCC meeting spreadsheets don't always seem to be accurate. So I don't think anything went astray. The site plan hasn't been approved yet, so they can't do much more than park on the site now that the demo is complete.

The site plan went inactive today. A change is afoot.

This pisses me off. We had a nice looking warehouse and now there is a parking lot. Sorry but if your not ready to build then let the existing structure be used until it's time...

Interested to see what they change. Does it have to go inactive for any change whatsoever? For instance . . . if they have to change the kind of exterior glass they're using, but everything else stays the same -- do new designs still have to be submitted?

I guess my question is, what's the criteria for an "inactive" status?

From what I've heard Parsley is still planning on moving into this office and this project is still planned to go and thoroughly funded. Not sure why it's stalled, but I still expect this project to go on.

Significant changes to a site plan require that the site plan be withdrawn and a new one submitted - like the Block 87 project currently. I don't know the extent of allowable changes to a site plan during an "inactive" phase. But they are relatively minor. 91 Red River gained a floor, and I believe RiverSouth (425 Riverside) gained a floor this way as well. 6 X Guadalupe had an update to the ground floor to gain the density bonus, and the recent split into two site plans may have been a reason for going inactive as well.

EDIT: The Republic gained 9 floors, so that was a pretty big change without having to withdraw/resubmit.

Kevin's post about the height being listed as 433' on the new FAA permit may be a hint about the change - maybe it lost a floor. Either way, the parking lot won't be there long because the building is 100% pre-leased.

Well, that's good news. Now we can get back to hating on the design.

The site plan status went inactive about three weeks ago, and is still inactive. The recent FAA filing filing for a 433' building suggested that it went inactive due to a possible floor reduction to 31-stories. But a right of way permit filed this past Thursday for installing pedestrian walkways around the site states construction will start on 11/05 for a 34-story building (which was the original penthouse mechanical level.)

I'm still hoping it gets cancelled. I drew buildings better than this in elementary school.
