Omg! I just love the way One World Trade Center is behind of the Flatiron Building. It shows the past and what will become the future, a great icon for this city

When you say red wrappings RoadCruiser, do you refer to how they change te color of the lights, like for the cardinal?

Like the old WTC towers, 1WTC will have a hat truss. That connector is the start of the hat truss.

A hat truss is a specially designed cap of structural steel that transfers some of the load from the exterior walls to the core, it also helps keep the building nice and tight and keeps it from swaying too much in the wind. The Hat Truss also provides a structural anchor for the spire/antenna.

Best to use this video to explain it to you. Seems like the new World Trade Center would have the same design. The explanation of the hat truss begins at 3:50, but I suggest you watch the whole video. Most skyscrapers are built like this nowadays, and it would teach you a lot about engineering and architecture, but ignore conspiracies.

Wow that looks so cool. And to all the people complaining about the delays for wind, would you work up there in 40+ mph wind?

Look at the bottom floor and see how massive it is in comparison to the people on the upper floor.Just a little tease of how the 89th and 90th office floors will look like.

I didn't know 1wtc would have a hat truss like the twin towers, very cool! Definately seems logical though, to help control sway and give extra bracing/support 1368 feet up in the air! Especially on those windy New York days!

Would the hat truss begin at 1,181' ? And the observation floors are still above.
