Well, if you're going to pay $5m+ for an oceanfront view, your windows better be pretty clear

If they had used stone on all the spandrel panels, this would be a very impressive tower IMO...still, it could be worse.

Half the wall is spandrels in some places.

Still... not as bad as the Hilton at Crystal Mall, Metrtotown.
I noticed that one entire wall is just spandrels, pretending to be windows with blinds.

Wow, that's really green.

Harbourside Towers near the Coal Harbour Community Centre have a similar green (for the vision glass), but without the spandrel panels.

The green of the spandrels looks like Trump Tower Toronto - and looks just as dated...

Wow, that green granite looks dated already.
Pacific Centre circa 1986 wants its old floor back!

Very sad day indeed. My guess is that there subtrades involved, not just Ledcor. Ledcor is serious about their their safety, I worked for them for 4 years, 2 years on-site. Dave and Cliff Lede's father (founder of the company) was killed on-site, so I am sure this is a huge blow to the company. Even worse they have been able to view accidents personally, their offices are in Shaw Tower.

Truly tragic. It's something we rarely hear about here, as it seldom happens (or at least, compared with the frequency of such construction deaths in countries with less standards).

That's a bad thing to happen~ I suppose we should be lucky that in this country a construction death is newsworthy and relatively rare.

It looks like construction has resumed on HG3. Hopefully all the safety issues have been completely resolved so that nothing like what happened ever occurs again.

Took these updates today with my iphone4 and am posting them from my phone so hopefully the quality is decent:

This is a very green building, and I like it! The stone fixtures are really nice as well.

Thanks for the pics - lots of progress there. The 30 storey curtain wall on the north side is going to be quite something...
