AISD selling 1111 W 6th Street main building to Schlosser. They may want to redevelop the site with office/multi-family.

AISD is purchasing Southfield Office Building at I35 & Ben White from the NY-based developer who just bought it.

The crane is up for the South Austin Medical Center expansion. I wasn't close enough to see exactly where, but this is either for the hospital expansion or the garage expansion. I checked the site plan last night and they were still waiting for a completeness check before approving and releasing the plan.

Does anyone know what’s going up on Woodlawn at the frontage road?

Tiny Home development on Old Manchaca: https://communityimpact.com/austin/s...manchaca-road/

3.1 of those 6.2 acres are where I grew up. My parents sold to Stinson in 2016. I'm very sad to see it go. I always wanted to make it into a 3-acre oasis within the city. But my parents have used the money to set themselves up for the long haul.

They now own a few small-medium properties in the Lampasas/San Saba area. One of which has a small cabin and 700ft of Colorado River frontage. This will be an AirBnB property as it has been the last number of years under the previous owner.

I can show you the previous owner's facebook page for it, but we don't have it listed yet. We're clearing some brush so you have a better view of the river. Will eventually build a dock so it's easier to put kayaks in or fish.

https://www.facebook.com/pg/flyinghr...=page_internal

The previous owner said many of his visitors used it as a centrally-located point to then make Hill Country day trips to the surrounding State parks, wineries, etc.

I made a video for my sister to show her the property since she hasn't had the chance to come see it yet. Don't mind the outhouse humor...my niece is 5 and makes potty jokes, so I included one. LOL The outhouse is actually leftover from when this used to be a primitive fishing camp. It is not in use anymore, obviously.

I really wish these developments would move away from the strip mall with large parking lot concept. That area is already a nightmare. I steer clear of South park Medows because it's a mess. The layout is terrible. They really should create a more of an urban centralized concept.

the worst....and they will live on for another 50-70 years because the owners don't want to miss out on the rent for the possibility to rezone/develop a VMO. Also, owners (some of these strip owners are just your neighbor- I have one in Zilker that owns half of S Lamar and drives a old Isuzu) price their strips on a cap rate that doesn't make sense for developers who are looking for dirt value essentially. It's fucked up.

Feelings about "Hotel Saint Elmo" .....

The font is disgusting.

The name is a knock off Bunkhouse property.

It looks like an office plaza, not a hotel.

The end.

The St. Elmo name is a big part of South Austin. There's the street and I myself went to St. Elmo Elementary school. It's cute and I love how the Congress/St. Elmo area is turning into the next trendy district for the southside.

Nothing I could find indicated that the hotel project has an operator yet, so there’s a very good chance that everything is still up in air, including the name and whatever branding you see.

If it looks like a Bunkhouse project (and I agree, it does) it’s because Bunkhouse has pretty much nailed the Austin look and feel, and that’s what the St Elmo developers are pushing too.
