wtf!!!! wow! great scoop on the fox plaza low-rise! i absolutely hate the fox plaza and hope that this comes through, as well as a nice re-cladding on the hateful tower.

as for that 10th and market site, what a dream come true. just so so pleasing, i couldn't imagine how this could be better, aside from being designed by gehry or b.i.g. or something, functionally 10/10.

Agreed. Though, it wouldn't be half as bad if it hadn't replaced such a beautiful theater.

I walked down 10th street this morning, and it appears that they have finally poured the foundation in the middle of this project, at the deepest part of the dig. I assume that is where the highest tower is going. It appears that it lines up fairly well with the hideous building behind it, so it will hopefully cover up much of that enormous windowless wall.

I posted the link to the San Francisco Fox website here quite some time ago--thanks for keeping its memory alive. Here is an interesting booklet that includes amazing structural facts, including that the theater was built to support a 19-story hotel over it! The loss of this structure, acclaimed by many to have been the finest theater ever built, was tragic. It was gone before I first lived in San Francisco, but its name lives on in Fox Plaza.

i think in the middle of tenth street, where the largest tower is likely going, the concrete is not yet up to ground level, at least it wasn't as of a few days ago. at the rate they are moving, who knows. between this and trinity II, the race is on, though trinity is already working on floor 2 it appears.

Yes, I think you're right. The concrete is up to street level only by Market and the 10th/Market corner. Towards the middle of the site, it's still below grade.

But, today I noticed that they've already poured some concrete for a few of those columns above street level, so this is climbing fast.
