I believe the image you’re referring to was from an earlier proposal where a hotel was proposed in the location of the current new short term parking structure.

On another note, the current interstate signage plans as of last week will direct long term parking and rental car to the current airport exit with all other airport traffic directed to the new exit near Loyola.

yikes! thats so far from the airport ... no one will want to use it... in other words parking at the new terminal will be severly limited so uber or lyft or get dropped off or you will spend 30 minutes trying to find a spot in the garage

This early plan showed a 4 level parking deck to the west of the main hall some im guessing something like this layout is likely but the garage on the east side and 7 level instead of 4

I believe the plan is for shuttles from NT to ST - shouldn't be more than a 5-10 minute trip. It actually might be faster to park at the ST garage, since traffic will be heavy until the Loyola ramp is built. Will be a bit less convenient that the current situation, but most larger airports require some sort of shuttle or train to car rentals and long term parking.

Have you ever gone through the intersection of Veterans and the airport access road? its atrocious... they must have plans to fix that as well because it simply wont work as is currently

Also change of topic but the Supreme Court just overturned bans on sports booking in states outside of Nevada.. Im assuming Harrahs Casino will now have plans for sports booking at the downtown casino now?

I just returned from a weekend in NOLa. Wonderful time. I was wondering if there was a master plan or mega project of some sort planned for these lots? What an incredible, pivotal opportunity for the city.

Unfortunately, our legislature is beholden to the Louisiana Family Forum who forbid any "expansion" of gambling beyond the current forms and wouldn't even allow it to be put to vote.

I can guarantee Mississippi will open it up and all of the revenue that would come to us will flow there instead. Maybe once they see that happening the leg. will consider allowing it, but I would guess it'll be a few years before we see a sportsbook at Harrah's.

Does anyone have any idea what will happen to all of the independent parking lots like Park N Fly etc that are currently along airline highway? Seems like a good idea for them to land swap with some of the industrial properties located around the north terminal.

Hopefully they do that, but their current facilities are in such poor condition I doubt they're interested in any investments to property. Maybe this is enough of a change though that it could spur them to change.

Is is just me or do the renderings greatly over-exaggerate the amount of space at the current site. No way can as many people fit there as shown. Even talk about using the space for festivals...?

I thought the same thing... the water feature one seems scaled close to right but the festival one seems really off
