Great Wall (Jinshangling)

After having already visited the Great Wall at Badaling and Mutianyu, two sections which are hardly enjoyable due to the tourist hordes, I decided to check out Jinshangling this time.

The Jinshanling section is arguably one of the most spectacular sections of the Great Wall since it is located in a very mountainous area. It's quite difficult to get there (a 3 hour drive northeast of Beijing), which means there are barely any other tourists and I can only recommend it to everyone who wants to visit the Great Wall.

Great photos. I walked the stretch from Jinshanling to Simatai back in February 2009 with my parents, and I have to say it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Absolutely fabulous scenery, and no crowds - highly, highly recommended for anyone visiting China.

4 years ago it was falling apart pretty rapidly, it looks like they were doing some restoration work there. I actually kinda liked the falling apart appeal to this section of the wall and there were hardly any tourists.

I am most likely moving back to Beijing hopefully by Januaru, I cant wait to visit Jinshangling again. It was so spectacular.
