Should be a nice championship when Ottawa will have a team on nasl. 5 teams is a minimum.

Nice win by the Impact and first clean sheet for Rickets.

The week off was great for us... offense still looks dominant but the defense looked a lot better today.

Still undefeated at home.

When we missed those 2 glorious chances in the 1st half I thought "oh no" but we finally had a questionable call go our way. 2-0, nice!

Down the road it'd be nice to create an FA cup type of system where pretty much any team in Canada, amateur and professional, have an opportunity to play for it. Obviously the top five would dominate, but by including ALL teams I think it would make it more meaningful.

Nice win for Mtl! Corradi already with three goals! Ferrari played amazing. I want more italians in our team.

God I feel soooooo bad for Toronto, they were tied with Real Salt Lake until the 92nd minute...then the unthinkable happened....Toronto loses 3-2 and has now the record for the worst start in MLS history.

No wonder Corradi and Ferrari have played for the Italian national team.

I also can't wait to see Nelson Rivas come back. This is a guy who played with Inter Milan until 2011.

Now 6th in the East with the 9th most goals scored in MLS. Not bad for an expansion team... not bad at all!

I've never really understood the FA Cup system. 99% of the teams that compete have no chance whatsoever of actually winning the thing, virtually the entire competition just seems like a complete waste of time. It's not like Liverpool or Manchester United is ever going to have to actually play against any of these pub-league teams anyway, and if they did it'd be a complete massacre. You said it yourself, in a similar system here a whopping five teams might have even a slim chance of actually getting anywhere close to winning it, and of those maybe three ever actually will. The Carling Cup is viewed as a lot less meaningful but they have the right idea capping the number of teams that can compete and getting rid of the pointless filler.

Penalty kicks I think.

What a loser team Toronto FC is... just like every other team in this city.

Quote:
"It's pretty clear what their intentions were coming here," Impact coach Jesse Marsch said.
Quote:
"I think it was important for them to score one goal because away goals are so important," Ferrari said. "We were a little bit surprised about that but I think for us it was a good game, maybe not a good second half, we didn't play very well, but still I don't think it's very easy to play against a team that plays defence for 90 minutes."

You get your wish...

Bologna striker Di Vaio expected to join Montreal Impact

Quote:
Bologna striker Marco Di Vaio, reported to be headed to the Montreal Impact, has called a news conference to announce his plans for the future.

An item on the Italian Serie-A club's website on Thursday said Di Vaio will meet the media on Friday morning.

The France Football website reported the 35-year-old is headed to Montreal as the Major League Soccer expansion team's first designated player, and that there will be no transfer fee because he is under contract to Bologna through 2013.

Di Vaio, who leads Bologna with 10 goals
, would give Montreal a third Italian player after forward Bernardo Corradi and defender Matteo Ferrari. Di Vaio and Ferrari played together at Parma in the early 2000s
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/stor...al-impact.html

Di Vailo is 15th in goals in the Italian Serie A (highest level of soccer in Italy).

BTW-Matteo Ferrari is amazing... WOW, that's all I have to say about him.

Di Vaio, Rivas, Corradi, Ferrari......wow. This team is growing fast. All these players plus Nyassi Ricketts Bernier Felipe could make quite a good team.

I think that Saputo is still hiding something from us. I expect a big Designated Player to come here in July, Del Piero style.

Rivas will play vs KC.

If he's as good as Ferrari, we should be good.

That was a very painful game to watch, primarily because I think I ruptured a lung from laughing so hard.

I think TFC may be the first sports team I've been a fan of that I'm going to give up on. It's one thing to be an expansion team that stinks for a few years, and we all put up with that and still supported them, but this is getting ridiculous. They're shockingly bad, I hate everyone on the team except Plata. Thank god the Jays should be decent this year.
